Re: Scope choices
I am going to have Shiloh add the drill and tap to my rifle when I get the “letter”
It’s a 26” heavy octagon saddle rifle in 45-70.
This rifle will be a hunting, silhouette, LR gong rifle
I was thinking of going with a MVA 3000 series (23”)in Creedmoor mounts with the center less mil dot reticle with the bases 17” centers, giving me 1/5 MOA per each graduation on the mounts….
Anyone have advice or opinions? Or is this a good setup

Re: Scope choices
I went with the DZ Arms scope and Unertl style mounts. Using the recommended mount blocks my 45-90 should be able to reach 1000 yards no problem.

Re: Scope choices
I'd talk with MVA, but I doubt you'd be able to physically get a 17" block spacing on the 23" scope.Silver Eagle wrote: ↑Sat Jul 23, 2022 7:06 pm I am going to have Shiloh add the drill and tap to my rifle when I get the “letter”

Re: Scope choices
The 23-inch scope uses a 10.34 inch spacing (give or take a few thousands lol). The Creedmoor mount will get you to a1000 yards. If you want the longer spacing, then go with a 28-inch scope.
It would be worth your time to call MVA and get the correct answers you're looking for.

Re: Scope choices
MVA 23 in on 10.75 spacing in a silhoette mount will get you to 1000 easy enough

My bad, the MVA 3000 series is 28” not 23”…Silver Eagle wrote: ↑Sat Jul 23, 2022 7:06 pm I am going to have Shiloh add the drill and tap to my rifle when I get the “letter”

Re: Scope choices
Thats exactly what I have on my 26 inch rifle and I really like it. And it looks good on it as well.
Mine is on at 100 @ zero and shoots to 1000 easy.
