Pictures of New Rifle

Post by bohemianway »

From topic "Preaching to the choir": Hartford, 30" Hvy Oct., 45-70. A very basic rifle and exactly what I wanted.

My sentiments exactly. Beautiful in its simplicity.

As I said, I never get tired of looking at these rifles and I find an elegance in the "basic" ones that others may not see. That is a fine rifle, a working man's rifle I like to call them. I love the look of the straight grip, the simple lines of it.

Thank you for posting the pictures.

Jim,

All it needs is one of those reproduction Sporting Tang sights and it would be a dead ringer for CL127 (Sellers pg. 209). Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

Shiloh produces the finest Sharps on the planet IMHO. I especially like the basic rifle with no frills, no AA, or AAA finishes. I have two very similar to yours and both are used frequently. Enjoy.

A working rifle doesn't need to look flashy.

The 1874 is just a beautiful rifle period.

Good solid clean lines….. typical 74. These rifles are all works of art, one doesn’t need XXX wood or a AAA finish to make a Sharps look GOOD.
