The Wasserburger Mile - labor day weekend 2020

Post by Kenny Wasserburger » Sat Nov 16, 2019 6:58 pm

Mark your Calendars, Labor Day Weekend 2020.

The Wasserburger Ranch will be hosting the Wasserburger Mile match. This match is by invite only, anyone that has attended before is welcome to come again. This match will be the weekend before the Shiloh shoot, allowing our Canadian friends to come early and shoot.

We are going to use a new system, to score by magneto speed. If this fails then the armored pit and radios will be used.

A pre match practice day will determine if your equipment is up to par, if you fail to get on the target or very close, you will not be allowed to shoot the match. This match is a hoot to shoot, the after shooting fellowship, in the evenings is worth the trip alone.

Hello Kenny,

So how many minutes over the 1,000-yard setting to achieve 1 mile? I estimate 152 additional minutes.

Cheers

Rick you need close to 2 full inches. Just to be safe.
Around 3.80 inches. With PP 3.36 on a MVA XLR.

Thanks Kenny.
Our's is in October. I was just wondering whether I'd be able to tie it in with next years visit.
Unfortunately it won't work with our dates. I'd really like to come visit with you at home there and have a crack at the mile.
Now if I could just win the lottery.....

"By invite only" - Kenny, is there some club one has to be a member of or something? I am in the NRA and sergeant-at-arms in the "Old Farts Club," but am only 73 and still sitting up and taking nourishment. I can still lift my 13.5-lb Shiloh but it gets tougher every year. But, who knows how many outings I have left in me. The almost 1500-mile drive to your place may be one of my last roundups? Many of my old shooting buddies are gone now.

Kenny,
I'm curious what velocity goal should a person try for to be competitive. Also what is the preferred type and weight of bullet, Ya I know ppb  . But have any GG bullets been successful?

Thanks,
Dan

1350 and above for MV. GG haven’t placed last couple years. But the money nose design is the leader more often than not.
