Kirk,
I searched the forum for this topic, but could not find any reference. Is the moisture content of the stock blank a governing factor before production starts? How long do you have to wait before the moisture content falls to where you want it? Do you use a kiln on stock blanks? Are the different classes of wood treated any differently before production? The wood I get from Wenig has already been dried down to around 10%. When people send their wood in this is where I let it get before carving. Their is no real set time, it is pretty much in God's hands. The piece that I put on my creedmoore was cut in 1982, I wasn't able to use it untill 1998, but it was dried natural.
