Shiloh Sharps buttplate

Post by JimM »

Hello Shiloh Sharps Forum,
My name is Jim and I have been a member here for awhile but have never posted. I have a question about a used Shiloh rifle I am thinking about purchasing. The rifle is a #3 with a 30" heavy oct barrel, caliber 45 2 1/10. My question is about the buttplate. I am not sure if it is Shiloh's shotgun or military. Here is a pic.

Thanks, Jim

It's the steel shotgun buttplate, a direct copy of an original. The rifle buttplate is smooth and narrower and has an upper tang with a screw in the tang.
