Sight Combinations

Post by Steve625 »

I am a proud, new owner of a Long Range Express in 45/70 that my family gave me for my 70th. birthday. They ordered it with a MVA MR Soule sight and a Shiloh #111 front sight. The rifle also came with a full buckhorn. I have been a rifle shooter for more years than I can count but never have used a tang sight like the Soule & Front Sight. My first question is should I remove the buckhorn as you can see it through the rear peep when lining-up the rear and the front sight for a shot. Secondly, what is the correct sight picture that I should have when trying to align the rear Soule with the Front Blade or other front sight insert? I don't know if I even asked the questions correctly but would surely appreciate any help or guidance from those with experience. Thank you
