Bull Barrel Pistol grip Sharps

Post by johnl »

Gents

Any of you fine folk mind posting a couple of pictures of your #1 or LRE with the 14 or 16lb barrels. Also if you were going to scope it, ie MVA, what length and why. Thanks.

You might need to be patient on that score. Not even sure how many #1's or Long Ranges are out there with the stout pipes.

Myself, I just put in for a Montana Roughrider with a 34" 16 pounder. The plan is to equip it with a Long Range Soule that is kicking around here, and in the future put an MVA scope mounted to the dovetails. It'll be a while until it shows up though.
Firearms technology was perfected in the 1870's, and it's been a slow downhill slide ever the advent of smokeless powder.

Rick Mulhern has posted pictures of his bull barreled rifles in the past, maybe that'll do the trick?

Bob

Why the change in calibre? I would think the 45-110 in a 16 lb stick would be a pussy cat. BTW get your camera fixed

It is very lite to shoot in the 45/110 525gr at 1325fps.I just like the 40/65 and have a LRE in 40/65 and BooKoo bullets and brass for that cal.I want to be able just to load one cal.My loading bench is too full with loading tools for 40/65--45/70--45/90--45/110,gotta down size, some dies, brass and rifles have to go,Bob.
