Round Barrels?

When I order a 'round barrel', is there a 'standard' and/or heavy weight barrel available? Thanks.

Depends on the model, I think. With the Business Rifle, you don't get a choice. It's 28" RB or nothing.

Round barrels have one size only.
There is no standard or heavy in round barrels.
Shiloh used to make round barrels with custom contours for extra$$, and they still may.
My Montana Roughrider has a 30" round barrel, and it's contour is the same as the Business rifle, just 2" longer.
I quizzed Kirk about it when I ordered mine, and the above info is what he told me.
I would say the Shiloh round barrels are heavier that standard octagon, but lighter than heavy octagon (just guessing)
My Roughrider weighed 11lbs 7oz. with a pewter tip and extra fancy wood.

Interesting about the round barrels, I have a Farmingdale Business rifle that I purchased in 1983 and have often thought the taper from breech to muzzle was too steep, mine measures about 1.130 @ the breech tapering down to .923 @ the muzzle. I asked a board member here to measure his original Business rifle barrel which measured about the same at the breech but the difference was at the muzzle which was .973! That is why the original photos of Business rifle barrel profiles appear to be heavier because they are.

My Farmingdale Business Rifle measures 1.210" ahead of the action (at the point where the wood of the fore arm starts) and .945 at the muzzle. I've always thought that it was a little heavier that it oughta be, but the more I shoot it, the more I like it.

She's a beast off hand with the straight grip, which is why I just bought a #1 Sporter with a pistol grip. You're probably right that an octagon barrel of equal length and caliber weighs more than a RB.

Now that I think of it I will have to go back and re-measure the barrel on my Business rifle, instead of 1.130 as I stated earlier I am pretty sure it actually measures "1.300" @ the breech X .923 @ the muzzle.

So now I had to measure mine.
At the action end where it screws in to the action it is 1.230".
At the muzzle it is 0.900"
Mine is a 30" round barrel- standard contour, so it would be a little smaller at the muzzle as it is 2" longer than a business rifle barrel.
It is not a lightweight barrel by any means.

Seems the Business Rifle barrel dimensions are all over the place.

O.K. I just re-measured mine with a pair of quality calipers: Breech is 1.250 and the muzzle is .921. The underside of the barrel (under forearm) is marked with the serial #"33XX", ".45-90" and "Shiloh MFG. Co." The top of the barrel is marked "C. Sharps Co.", "Old Reliable", "2 4/10".

I believe you are correct, the Bull barrel run will be for Octagon barrels only, as I don't think they make round bull barrels.
Not sure on this one, you should check with Shiloh.
As all Shiloh's barrels start out round, they may make a round bull barrel, just have never seen one.
It would be worth a phone call.
