weight difference between 77 and 74
what is the weight difference between the two models if built with the same spec? thanks art

Here it states that the 1877 Sharps receiver is a pound lighter than the 1874 Sharps receiver.

Which, on a 12 pound 77 rifle should put that much more weight in front of the support hand as well as on the sticks and might prove an effective silhouette rifle.
A shorter, round, large in diameter barrel would be interesting performance wise though a departure from the 'classic' looks of the 77 perhaps.

I must admit, the traditional profiled 77 is a looker though.
