Stock Finish?

Post by bucksnort »

Does Shiloh still use Formby tung oil? If I just got a rifle with 'standard' finish, I could probably add about another 6-10 coats and it should look pretty nice. Has anyone done this? Thanks.

Last time I was in the Shiloh shop was '10. I was told buy one of the craftsmen that it was a blend that Shiloh uses. Would not tell me what it was, but he did give me about 4-5oz of it. It smells like a mix on Linseed and Tung.
