40 70 SS length

Post by kenny s »

I have a 74 on order for the 40 70 SS .
I have a number of cases and would like to trim them ahead of time.
I note the correct length is 2.5 normally.
Is this the length of the Shiloh 40 70 SS chamber?
The brass I have is JBA marked 40 70 SS. and I hope it works.

Thanks...Ken

Call Shiloh and do not trim them to the exact length until after the reloads have been fireformed

I too am considering a rebarrel project into a .40-70 ss. I am also planning to use Hornady .405 Win brass. I understand there is a difference in the dimensions of the rim? When I do order the barrel, should I let Shiloh know the brass I'll be using? Thanks. ED
