Springfield Trapdoor Stock

I recently purchased a 1873 Springfield trapdoor that has been Frankensteined. The only thing I'm sure of, the sr# 240--- dates it a 1883.
I'm slowing making it, parts wise, as close as possible with the help of authors Joe Poyer & Craig Riesch.
When I got it, it had an unusual stock that I haven't been able to identify through any research I've run across. I have attached some pictures hoping someone could tell me where or what this stock belongs to.

You should talk to Al Frasca in Springfield, Ohio. He is an expert on all versions of the Springfield Trapdoor rifle. Try trapdoorcollector.com I have been to his house. He is very knowledgeable and will gladly share his knowledge with you.

A 1883 that hasn't been buggered - guessing you stock looks to be for a carbine without you identifying the barrel length
