I had read in a post from a few years ago that Shilohs French gray finish is now more of a “nickel finish”...does anyone have information of photos showing the difference in how the two finishes look on the Shilohs, if in fact there has been a change?
Go to the Shiloh site and look at the engraving photo's. Doesn't look like nickel.

Yes, I would agree. I just do not know how old those photos are, and if the “newer” French gray that Shiloh is doing is different from what photos I have been able to find. They are all very attractive, especially with engraving, just thought it would be interesting to see the difference, if there is any at all. I prefer the pack hardened finish, but love the bare metal look with lots of engraving.

Dennis, on a side note, are you a pilot, and if so, do you ever fly out of Payson?

The French grey hasn't been changed for 20 plus years so what you see in the catalog is what they are today. When I first came here Wolf would heavy blast them, I changed that to the more flat nickel look.
