Bullet length is probably the larger factor with stability at long range, especially with the more common 1/18 twist barrels of the 45's.

These blunt 520s from the old Lyman 457125 mould have zero taper to the nose and being lighter, perhaps produce a little more velocity? They carry a lot of lube, I size to .459. Anyway, I'll mess around with them for a while. Over the years, I have noticed other guys using them but never tried them because they didn't look like a bullet.
