Engraver named Dixon?

Post by gmkmd »

Good morning,
One of my Shiloh Sharps rifles is a Farmingdale-marked rifle in .45 x 2 1/10, and it is nicely engraved and signed by “Dixon”. Does anybody know who this engraver is? Did he or she used to work for Shiloh, or would the engraving have been done after the rifle was sold by the factory?
Thank you.

You may want to contact Greg Dixon. From what I know of Greg he is an accomplished engraver. He is the owner of Dixon Muzzleloading Shop Inc. 9953 Kunkels Mill Rd Kempton, Pa 19529. 610-756-6271.

Oh; that never occurred to me. I know him and go there often. I never thought of him for having engraved a Shiloh.

Spoke to Greg; sounds like he may very well be the one. He’s going to check his records.
