Just got a Shiloh Sharps in .45 x 2-7/8. What is recommended for brass? I can find .45-100, and I can find .45-120, but I can't find .45-110. Does anybody make that? Or is it recommended to get .45-120 and trim it to length, or to get .45-100 and just seat the bullet out further?

Norma brass is the only game in town at the moment.
Call Shiloh Monday morning, they did have some brass on hand.

Another vote here for Norma brass. It comes in 3.25" and 2.9". The latter works a treat. Tried Bertram and some Bell basic I was able to find but nothing held a candle to Norma. JBA may be another option if you can locate any but I havent tried it in this chambering and the company appears to be in a 'holding pattern' at present. You may have to size the cases to get them to chamber the first time around but after that they are good to go. 'Try before you trim'.

Last night Graffs had one box of the Norma 2.88” brass. Sometimes the 3.25” brass will not chamber with a.458” GG bullet until it has been fired several times. But either length from Norma is the way to go.

Over the years I collected the 45-Basic and the 45-120 they both work well.

I have a 45-100 and just was wondering what the experience with the stretched Starline 45-100 brass was? I see it is no longer offered by Buffalo Arms.

When I first started shooting BP and before I had any reloading stuff, I bought some already-loaded 45-110s from BACO. The BACO brass was Starline 45-100 stretched to make 45-110s. I realized I would need to reload my own if I was going to shoot that rifle again. $$$. So I reloaded the stretched brass. Then I got some Jamison brass but it does not hold nearly as much as the stretched brass. I could not get the same amount of powder in the Jamison even after form fitting it to the rifle without a lot more compression than I wanted. I have been hoping BACO would make some more 45-110 out of the Starline 45-100 since the Jamison is not available. The Starline has been just fine. I have some 45-120 Norma but I haven't trimmed them yet it so I can't compare Norma with the other two.

All I use in mine is the BA stretched 2.6. Never have had an issue with it. Although once mine was fire formed to my chamber it never sees a sizing die again. So it never gets worked so should last for years.

Huntington Die is where I got them when you couldn't find them anywhere else.

Huntington Die Specialties has this brass. I just ordered 5O case 3/8/19, it was $41 a 20rnd. They are the only one that had any in stock, been looking sense the first of January.
