45-90 WCF cases
I was wondering if 45-90WCF cases are the same length as 45-90 Sharps cases. The SPG Primer says they are similar, except the WCF was loaded with 300 grain bullets. I could find no mention of it elsewhere, but looking at cases available on-line, they appear to be 2.4". I have limited resources being overseas, and always enjoy the valuable information shared on this fine site. Thank You in advance for your help. Ryan

The Sharps .45-2.4" (erroneously called the .45-90) and the Winchester .45-90 both utilize the same case--.45-2.4”.
As you observed, the .45-90 fired a lighter bullet in hopes of achieving “express rifle” results. The original Sharps fired a much heavier paper patch bullet (500 grains plus) & was often times loaded w/ a heavy charge in excess of 90 grains.
