From the literature….

Post by Ray Newman »

The Nov/Dec. 2003 Issue of the “Single Shot Rifle Journal”, pub. the Amer. Single Shot Rifle Asso., has a Mori Shultz’s article & photos—“Shiloh Sharps: The Inside Story, Part I”. It deals w/ the foundry making the castings & in the Jan/Feb. issue, Mori will take inside the Shiloh plant.

A few days ago, a spottier inquired about the 11.15X58R (.AKA 43 Spanish) cartridge. The Issue also has a brief review of Croft baker’s latest (?) work “Shooting the .43 Spanish Reolling Block Rifle”. According to the reviewer, 2 chapters are dedicated loading—BP & White Powder (AKA smokeless) for this round.

Also is an ad for the venerable Belding & “visible” powder measures w/ ¼, 1/2, & 1# capacities. Contact the comp. a:

Colleagues: forgive the numerous typographical errors.

For those not in the Know, the name of the measure comp. is “Belding & Mull.”
