Reduced target to 100 yards

Post by flintski »

Gentlemen:
How can I get/make reduced size silhouette animals on paper so I can practice at 100 yards. I need it to look like the same size as if shooting at the real distances. Want to practice with difference front sights and just get some trigger time in looking at the real size. Say for a 8x11 size sheet of paper.
thanks, flint

I just took the spotting board and traced the critters out on black poster paper. The grid on most of those boards is 1", corresponding to 1 MOA on the silhouettes, so it is an automatic scaledown to 100 yards.

If memory serves me (and it doesn't as often as it used to) there are some somewhere on the NRA web site. I know that I printed some out from some where and can't remember for certain where from.

Jerry - I think this might be the location of the silhouette targets you are referring to at NRA.org:

Scroll down about half-way on this page . . .

Now what I'm looking for is, if I print these out are they going to be looking like the REAL size 200,328,421,547 yards animals, if I shoot at them at 100 yards???? These targets should be pretty small to LOOK like the real size over the front sight. These at the NRA sight going to do that?

Bill,

Mine are scaled to be PDC (Pretty Damn Close) at 100 yards, but not exact. When practicing with them, my scores for a 40 shot "match" are also PDC, slightly higher than real life (little wind influence, and like shooting a swinger). Besides, if you don't like them, I'll refund your money. :)
