I am the owner of a 45-120 Sharps that weighs 20 pounds. I shoot a 545gr Creedmoor bullet in that rifle. Otis one of the most difficult rifles I own to shoot. Even though the barrel is 34" after I shooters the rifle and patch it there is large amounts of un burned powder that is on the patch. I also have a Shiloh in 45-70 45-90 and a 45-100 2.6. They are much more enjoyable to shoot as opposed to the 45-120. It's your money but I think the day will come that you will wish you bought a smaller caliber case length.

I would never be satisfied if I purchased something other than at least the 45-110 in the Quigley as I have wished to have one since the movie. Since My wife purchased this for my Birthday it will really be extra special thanks for the input tho do appreciate it.

In the movie Quigley shot a 45-110. Check it out not a 45-120. That was never a Sharps factory chambering.

I have ordered a couple Black Powder Reloading manuals from ebay and they are on their way. I have also ordered 2 different black powder dispensers vintage ones also off of ebay. Been doing some reading so far and waiting. This will be a long wait for this old SEABEE. LOL

don't get to far ahead of your self, don't buy any accessories till your rifle goes to build art

I am buying a little something each month so when rifle is done then and only then when in my hands I will start my loading. Right now brass is out of stock so put myself on notification list for when it comes in same with patch template. There are some merchandise from Shiloh also a little each month.

45-110 cases on Gun Broker right now. Looks like Buffalo Arms has 70 Jamison 45-110s left... cheaper than you could get them from Captech (Jamison) if they had them in stock. The availability of components come and go and you still have a lot of time. Sometimes you can find brass on auctions too.

Thanks SFogler. I put a notification thing added to my wish list on MIDWAYUSA.COM when they come in they will notify me with an email and they seam to be the cheapest at $1.74 a piece so just wait on them. Also did the same thing for the .45 Cal paper patch template. Yes you are right I have plenty of time. Thanks for the help any is always good help.

Go with the Norma Brass in your 45-110. The Other while good is a tad short, you want cases 2.875 long for Grease Groove minimum, for Paper Patch you want 2.880 cases. Trust me on this.

I would definitely pay attention to what Kenny says. I have two .45-110's and no longer bother with anything but Norma brass.

? Folks can I trim 45-120 down to 45-110. I went to NORMA’s website and they only show 45-70 and 45-120?
