I have no problem shooting 1000 yards with an MVA MR Buffalo Soule sight and 113 front sight from any of my 45's. This is with black powder and a big lead bullet. I shoot grease groove bullets but paper patch would shoot just as well. Don't over think this stuff, it all comes down to attention to detail in loading and shooting.

I am thinkin fine pin as I have issues on some of my rifles covering bullseye with front site being to big at longer ranges. My muzzle loader is that way and my Henry golden boy. When your spending $36++.++ what is another $87.00 thanks grits

This might be a dumb question why would I use the tang site for a short range shot, wouldn’t I be using the buckhorn and have tang site laying down or not even on the weapon for shorter shots. This is what I would think right?

If you fold a long range tang sight down and torch off a 45-110, you might not be posting here anymore....

The sight folds back and pokes you in the eyeball. A heavy recoiling rifle will shove it back into your face, and it wouldn't be anything to laugh about.

You do want the #113 for the front.
G.
I would strongly counsel against the #113 front sight for the intended purpose of the rifle. You don't need a leaf spring that is prone to bending, or a bubble level. A standard open rifle blade will be better in about 3 different ways. Otherwise, a globe with a screw-in retaining mechanism for the inserts is a lot more durable and dependable. No point in a bubble level in a noncompetition rifle.

Well I ain’t shoot competition and am just sticking with what I have ordered which is the site that comes with it as far as front site goes. I like a blade or pin style site or post. I know this is a bit different site system than what I️ am used to in some cases but I am pretty sure it won’t take to much rocket science to figure it enough to hit with them.

Very easy to file that little tab down that overhangs on the top of MVA sight, that Brent speaks of.
I like the 'bubble' as it tells me if I'm canting the rifle, which I have a tendency to do.

Thanks for the safety advice on the tang sites as well gents as I may have been the idiot to do that. I think I may have noticed before firing tho I would hope.

As I recall there is a front sight that "flips" with two different kinds of front sight style. Might be a option

BFD is spot on when it comes to the globe sight and a hunting rifle. Doesn't work well with the buckhorn sight eather. In low light conditions I can not see thru the globe, it is just a big black circle on the end of the barrel. Sights are fairly easy to change.
