Howdy, all.
I have some old Burtram 45 Basic cases >100ea there 3 1/4" long new still in the original boxes. .I bought them quite a few years ago for my 45-110. I am finally getting around to using them but I am a little confused as to what actual length to cut them to for the 45-110. What I am looking at is to cut them to 2.875. I read and seen other publication that says 2.874 Maybe someone can clear this up for me.
Thanks
Case Sizing.

Re: Case Sizing.
I run my .45-90 and .45-70 cases, .005 shorter than the chamber.

Re: Case Sizing.
That is most likely where the 2.874 comes from. I will be shooting PP in a 540 gr.

Re: Case Sizing.
If it were me I would measure my chamber and run them to chamber length as so you don't get paper rings.

Re: Case Sizing.
and they need to be chamber length when obturated, which means a little long when sized.
how long depends on chamber length, and how much your die sizes the case.
keep safe,

cut a dummy case a little long, chamber it and measure how far it sticks out with a caliper then re trim art
