but be aware that when you wrap bullets, the paper thickness can change a little, possibly due to stretch.
wet vs dry patching ca also alter things.
while the thickness of paper changes almost imperceptably, you need to multiply that x 4 on the bullet.

Thanks for the continued advice and thanks bpcr shooter for the list, very interesting, a lot of work went into compiling that.
For my 40-70SS I normally dry patch as I find it easier than damp/wet. I shall keep on searching for suitable paper this side of the pond. I have e-mailed a seller in the US to see if they will ship to me but still waiting, I doubt they will.

I have found the .454 to work very well too !!martinibelgian wrote: and .450-.452 for groove dia.
With patch, the aim it to bring it up to .458 - which is in function of the paper.
