Question, what would seem to be the most popular 45-70 cases. I have tried several makes and can not see any difference in group size I can attribute to a specific brand of cartridge case. My Shiloh Sharps barrel is a 34" standard weight.
Thank you.

Re: Preferred 45-70 cartridge cases
I've used all the major brands-Winchester, Remington, and Starline. IMO, they all work fine. The Starline need a good anneal before use, and some people say that Remington doesn't need annealing. I generally anneal after every firing to ensure consistent neck tension.
Each brand has different capacity (Winchester the most, Remington and Starline a couple of grains less), so your loads should be tailored to the case make.

I used primarily Remington, and Winchester, but of late have been super impressed with the Hornady brass.
