Re: Cleaning
And Gunzilla if you have any lead in the bore. I use both on all my black powder guns, muzzle loader or cartridge.

Re: Cleaning
Windex with vinegar works very well in cleaning up my BPCRs.
follow it with 99% Isoalcohol (rubbing alcohol) to dry,
then oil, usually olive oil between matches, or RIG, etc for storage off season

Re: Cleaning
Water with a splash of Murphy's Oil Soap (probably lots of soaps will work); dry patch; patch saturated with a good moisture-displacing oil (I've not found anything better than Eezox). Before the next shooting session, wipe the chamber dry, but not the barrel--in many years doing this, I've only had any leading in one rifle, with a Sagebrush Money bullet, and then only when I wiped all the excess lube off the front of the bullet.

Re: Cleaning
I just use water with about 10% Ballistol. Sometimes I use a bore brush. For oiling I just use straight Ballistol.

water with a splash of dawn, cut patches, put them in a freezer bag. wet and squish them around. put in kit. done.
I cut my own patches with cotton felt bought at the fabric store. ez and cheap.
I wet, 1 dry between shots.

Re: Cleaning
My cleaning solution is my wiping solution: 1 part Murphy's Oil soap, 1 part Ballistol, 10 parts water,, dry patch bore, Eezox bore. Wipe chamber dry before next firing. I leave Eezox in the bore and fire my PPB's across it, first shot hits POA same as the next
I agree with Clarence on Eezox.
I agree with Clarence on Eezox.

I agree with the Windex/Vinegar mix, it really tears down the Black powder. Very good onbeltfed wrote:Windex with vinegar works very well in cleaning up my BPCRs.
