I've built several rifles over the years in this caliber as it is one of the all time greats in my opinion. The two I remember most was a Marlin model 93 fitted with a 30 inch tapered octagon barrel and a full length magazine. It was for a relative in Michigan who used it in the U.P. for deer hunting. It held 11 rounds! I hated to give that one back as I worked up a load for it.
The other was a high end roller for and old friend that had left the state.
My only .38 cal is a Uberti Highwall with a 32 inch round barrel in 38-70. I have a ten pitch GM barrel on it and had Mr. Brooks cut a DT designed mini groove bullet mold that drops a 384 grain bullet, I have yet to ring out.
I guess I'd rather build black powder guns then test loads from the way they are stacked up around here.

Arnie
Every time I get tips from experienced long range shooters like you it just shows me how much I still have to learn.
Thanks for the info and i sent a PM to you about the bullets.

I was in the pit pulling that target. The last shot that came through I tried so hard to see if there was a cut on that black line to get it in the 10 ring.
That last shot was about 1/2" out
