GRAF Black Powder

It looks like this is manufactured by GOEX? Has anyone used this? Thoughts?

I called Graf's and was told it is Goex 'plain' grades of powder -not Olde E
If you have ever shot Goex powder - you should be familiar with it's quality

I bought 5lbs of 1F back in the early spring, I normally use Goex 1F. I don't shoot matches, only recreationally and my criteria is a 12" steel plate at 2-300 Yards using barrel sights and Cross sticks. I try to duplicate a typical Buffalo load that would have come out of a box of sharps factory ammo. My rifle is a C. Sharps 50 2.5 with a 1-26" twist.

I've shot a couple of pounds and so fat it seems to be fairly similar to the Goex 1F, fouling is similar as is accuracy. The grains of the 1F Grafs look slightly smaller than the Goex 1f and it also has a dull appearance compared to the shiny grains of the previous batch of Goex I used.

I intended to get a lot of shooting in the spring and summer but the Covid stuff messed that up and my summer isn't looking great due staff shortages at work.

I'll make a few ladder loads and see if Its capable of really tight groups. I suppose I'll have to re mount my tang sight.

Anyone Shoot 1F in a 44-77 or should I gets some 2F? I have a Shiloh that I need to get shooting.

I'll be using a PP Bullet for the 44-77. The Shiloh I have is an older Big Timber rifle.
