If the pressure from BP is eating the breech face it would also eat the barrel throat which is why my hypothesis of the priming detonation being redirected back at the breech face is the most likely cause for the erosion, in some cases almost immediately.

I made a tool to set the primer pockets from .235 to .220 in depth . My accuracy improved greatly in my shiloh 40 2 1/2 . And i can still use rifle primers in them .

Blackstone, what brand of brass and what brand and size of primers are you using?
Is the seated primer in the case below flush with the case?

Another match in the books and I can say that I am really liking this 2F. The NMLRA had a case of the same lot of 2F that I bought so I went ahead and got it also. Now if only I could start hitting chickens again things would be very nice

Smart move. I went from one lot of 2F to another a few years back and did not do any testing, thinking I would only need 4-5moa difference. Ended up having to hold the top of the 5-ring to hit anywhere near center at 600yd as I ran out of elevation. Was over 10moa of difference (more than 5'). Lesson learned.

Having 50 pounds of a lot I like is a good thing. I might like this lot of 2F a little bette then the lot of 1.5 that shot well for me
