Clean or anneal first?
Clean cases first or anneal then clean? If you size do you size first?

Why clean before annealing? Or why not the other way around, anneal before cleaning? Why do you do it this way and not that way?

because the carbon in the necks responds to heat in such a way that it turns ceramic and sticks worse than shit to a blanket.
in fact you will never get it off.
it also affects the partial anneal you are trying to achieve causing inconsistent temper in the finished brass product.
clean it all out, partial anneal, then if you want some carbon in the necks put a controlled ammount of fresh graphite in there with a brush.
