Re: 38-55
I have one. I'll see if I can get a pic posted tomorrow when I start a new thread on my results today. I was very pleased.

Re: 38-55
I shot a 38-55 for several years, a tack driver with a1-14 twist barrel with the Lyman 330 gr postell. On mild days it did well, once wind exceeds 7-9 mph all bets are off. It performs well to 600 in calm conditions.
I rechambered it to a 38-50, it performs well, a glance at the 2015 Mid-Range nationals scope class will tell the tale. Even so I parked the rifle shortly after, I gave up entirely too many points at 600.
With the new 3-5-6 Mid-Range format, I knew it wasn’t up to the task.

Re: 38-55
I am also thinking of playing with a 38-55. I think the effects of recoil on one's score is highly underestimated. I know my shooting substantially improved when I went from a 45-70 to a 40-65.
Steve Garbe won the Pennsylvania, California, and Wyoming state championships and was 2nd at Raton in some nasty conditions all in the same year with one......I happen to know where that rifle is, too....
It will be fun!
