Anytime you get a partial wrap of paper, it is undoubtedly the inner wrap. That means one thing, improper bump up of your bullet, the paper should be cut all the way through. Bullet is undersized and paper too thick. This will show up in misses at 800-900-1000 yards. Usually the proverbial dirt diggers. Might be fine for 100-200 yard shooting, get some real distance and you will find otherwise.

Been there done that, have the scars to prove it. I went that route my first year shooting PP

A fatter bullet, Seth Cole paper, wet patched, equals a cloud of shredded paper at the muzzle every time.

If using Seth Cole 55W paper, what is the ideal bullet diameter? And, what would be a recommended bullet mold for using this paper?

That paper adds .0055 to my bullet when wet patched, so a .444 bullet will put you a half thousandths under bore. A .445 bullet will put you a half thousandths over bore dia. The size bullet you order depends on what you want the finished dia. to be. What type bullet to order is another personal decision, Money nose or elliptical nose would be my 2 choices, I use both, you need to match the length of the bullet to the twist of your barrel also.

If your sticking with the PP bullets I would start stocking up on the onion skin paper.
With the disappearance of the manual typewriter so is the onion skin paper for making carbon copies. Get a ream on and off during the year even if you don't need it and stow it even if you most likely never get to use it up then pass it on to others that cant get it anymore when your done shooting.
A ream don't last long, for me anyway it don't.

Kurt, have you given cooking parchment paper a try yet? Might be a cheap alternative if it works for you. The parchment I got is .0015 thick and seems pretty tough. I'm experimenting with it and different bullet diameters of my own making in the .303. I'm no expert in either but it is fun to mess around with and try to learn something.

The Seth cole 55w works with bullets at .444 for shooting where wiping isn't real important. .446 for target working a good wiping routine, and .448 if you seat deeper than whatsome think you should be seating.
For target work I'm liking the Seth Cole 55y with .446 bullets
You can get a roll of 8 lb drafting paper from Staples that is probably SC under a different wrapper.
A roll of paper last's makes quite a few more bullets than the reams of sheet paper does.

Mike, no I haven't used it. Just about any paper that patches the bullet to the proper diameter will work. I have a friend that uses printer paper and I sure would not stand in front of the target at a 1000 yds with him using it.
get a roll of RV toilet paper, its .002" thick, just don't use the recycled paper :) serious it works just fine and if you think confetti is necessary you will get it using it.
