Trying to get my Georgia Special 45-90 dialed in.
Testing a couple different primers with the new '17 Fluffy Swiss Powder.
Was really hoping the BR-2 primers would prevail as I have lots of them.
Glare was horrible with the sun over my right shoulder but I tried the BR-2 primers anyway.
Terrible Vertical. So I moved the angle of the target and got rid of the glare for the Fed Primers.
Wasn't happy with the results so I redid it today.
Fed primers copied the first days results, but the BR-2 gave me what I was looking for !!!
Shot at 150 yds, so I'm 1/4 way to the 600 yds I want to dial this rifle in at.



Which brings up the 200 yd postal !!! Gonna concentrate on other things this winter, so if anyone want to start it please feel free.

Because My Son just moved to Georgia and is a professor at Georgia in Athens, which is just up the road from the River Bend shooting !!!!
And it dawned on me a couple weeks ago, you have a shoot that is perfectly timed with a time of year that I could come down and visit him,
so if that one in a million chance does happen that I actually come down, I'm gonna have a gun and load just for that 600 yd target !!

Hope you can make it, I'm probably about a 40 min. drive from your son. We would call that down the road from RBGC.

Give a over primer hole wad made from white coffee filter paper a try.

these have underpowder newspaper wads.
Haven't tried coffee filter wads .

I might have to try the gm155m pistol primers at least once since i have an overabundance of them too.

White coffee filter paper doesn't leave any ash residue

Ashless filter paper works best for me.

Do you just use the flat bottoms, or iron out the sides too, or ??

I just use a .40 cal wad punch. The filter side pleats are never an issue.

Looking on-line for coffee filters, there is no designation about being “ashless”. How is it determined that a filter is ashless?

Search for Whatman Ashless Filter paper -- Cat No 1541 150. They are laboratory filters, and are what Dan T. tested, used and recommended.

Keeping this simple—go to grocery store & buy coffee filters. They make flat cone shaped ones for MR. Coffee machines. You want the white not brown paper. White ones are more refined paper & burn completely——no ash ! This only thing I’ve that doesn’t leave anything in case. I once asked DT at Raton what to use & he replied just get white coffee—-FWIW

I use tracing paper and a one hole novelty punch from Hobby Lobby. I fold a sheet of the paper in half and half again so the punch cuts 4 at a time. They have an assortment of punches that will fit different calibers;-) Hint - the wad doesn't have to be round - my 38 is a starburst and my 40 is a cauliflower.
