The cool thing with the Forester and perhaps Wilson is you can hook it up to a power driver with a flex shaft and have a motorized case trimmer. Oooops, I see that has already been mentioned!

I use the little HF chop saw too, I find it works very well. I make little fixtures from hex stock to hold the case. This results in a very consistent case length. I made a short video showing it.

I haven't found anything that will trim a case down better than this little HF cutoff saw. It has a very fast RPM to make a clean cut and I have used this saw for cutting brass bar stock 1/2" thick and I still use the same blade. They have gone up in price since I got mine.
I would suggest making a wood block like I have in the picture with round bottom like in the picture or a V that I have changed to and using now.
Just clamp the block in it's vise but square the case taper with the blade so you make a square cut. I use the end of the block as a length guide putting the rim tight and make the cut.
I would get a spare belt and blade while you can. I have not wore one out yet and it has done a lot of work.

Now that is a tool I need to buy!! I inherited a couple thousand Starline 357 cases and was thinking of a good way to trim them down for 38 cases. Maybe this will work.

Thank you, both of you, all of you, for your methods of trimming cases. I’m on my way soon to HF to search.

I've been using one to cut brass bands for my waterfowl calls for prolly 10-12 years.
