Well, sort of.....deer and elk horn hunting season is on right now. I watched 8 bulls and 12 deer this morning. Deer lost their horns quite a while back. I haven't seen a deer with horns in 2 months. A lot of elk still have them.
First big elk rack was picked up well over a month and a half back. The herd this morning, 8 bulls, was mixed. A couple already had nubs showing. Several still had horns. One was a fairly large 6 pt. I was surprised he was still carrying.
Time to hit the brush in the wintering areas

Wow, this morning, "0" animals on the hill. That usually happens when a large preditor is in the area. Deer and elk aren't to be found. They'll show back up in a couple of days when "what ever", cougar, pack of coyotes or wolves, moves on. I never have figured out where they go.
There's a large brushy area behind my house. In the next week or so, if it was there, old dog will bring in a trophy or two.
