Elk hunting!

Post by RMulhern »

T-Bob and his guide Bubba devised a plan to take a big 'n'. They inserted themselves into a cow elk costume, and learned the mating call of the bull elk.

As the Monarch Bull bugled his approach, Bubba, the guide in front whispered "OK, let's get out, and get 'im!"

T-Bob in the decoys rear, bellowed "the damn zippers stuck, what are we gunna do?"

Lowering the decoys neck, Bubba replied "I'm gonna nibble grass, but you better brace yourself."

Awesome!

Had a great time. Anyone who hasn't experienced the great north..............should do so.

The three weeks I spent up there wasn't long enough.

We had visitor, and the kind that no one want's to meet up with. After a few days of him hanging around camp, and some very nervous hunters,
we had to call Dept of Natural Resourses to come and deal with him.

They sent a chopper, from Churchill Manitoba and a crew to dart Mr. Whitey and relocate him. He wasn't that big, perhaps 500 lbs, but that still a lot of bear.

As soon as I get all the pictures togeather, I'll post more.

I seen one like that last summer about 250 yards from me. I'm glad that he liked the blue berry patch he was munching away in.
It sure made me feel like my 3" slug gun was awfully small when I slowly walked away form him.

Send out a helicopter and relocate the bear??? That's wierd. Where were you - on the Hilton Hotel picnic area?

Ida thunk they would have relocated you if the bear was a problem  Maybe move you to the Marriott would have been cheaper than a helicopter crew. Man, talk about wasting tax payer money! I live in the wrong century.
