Antelope

My 10 year old son and I made a mile and a half stock on this goat this morning. 94 yard quartering away shot and a 50 yard dash is all she wrote. The Big 50 strikes again.

Congratulations!!!! They are a hoot to hunt. Spot and stalk is the best way to go.

Congratulations Stephen. Nice going. I take it we are looking at the exit wound? Shoot straight, rdnck.

Very nicely done! I like the part about your son being with you. My boys used to do that but have long since outgrown it. Enjoy them while you can!

I haven't connected yet this year but working on it.

Congratulations Stephen!!
I had gotten possession of a big "50" gun early in the fight, and was making considerable noise with it.

Yes Bill that is the exit hole. Entry hole was the size of the bullet, the exit hole the size if a 50 cent piece! When the bullet struck the buck he kicked up like a bucking bronco! That's always fun to see. The off side lung was nothing but a blood clot! Lots of damage.

Thanks Bill

Jackrabbit

I duplicate the original factory load. 100 grains of Fg, .025 card, 3/16 lube, .025 card a .494 pp bullet wrapped with 9 lbs onion skin paper and weighing out at 473 grains.

Thanks To All

I have three antelope tags, one for each of my older boys! One down two to go! They love hunting with me. Good luck.

Congratulations Stephen. Nice antelope, nice rifle and nice memories with your son. The guys that have only shot the scoped modern stuff don't understand.
