Antelope-2

I was fortunate enough to take my 7 year old and 4 year old out antelope huntng today! Nothing short of a miracle we got as close as we did for a shot. It was my four year olds first hunt, we had to go over some rules after a couple blown stocks. :) it was a 49 yard shot when all said and done. I used my own bullet mould that I made, 473 grain pure lead bullet, 100 grains of Fg. .025 card, 3/16th lube, .025 card.

Thanks

Boy, does that seven year old ever look right at home with that 50! A few more years and you're going to have to get yourself another one of those.

Congrats again, that's got to be great fun for all.

Steve I just ordered a 50 1 3/4 for my wife. She's going to lay some animals out with that. I will let the boys shoot hers :)

Good shooting Stephen! That's dang funny about the blown stalks and going over the rules.
Been at that point with my boys but that's how they learn! Have to teach 'em the field craft
before the killin'.

Well done

Good job Stephen. That is funny about the rules thing. It can be hard enough to get close enough to antelope by one's self much less with the kids. Hey I was thinking with your wife getting a 50 1 3/4" you two could be called "Big 50 and Short Shell 50" I think it has a ring to it don't you? :D

It was a pure miracle we got an antelope, and for the boys to see it go down was awesome. Cody said the noise and the smoke made his heart thump!! :)

The bullet on the left killed the antelope buck, the one on the right is my home grown doe slayer.
