I have a friend here in Abilene, TX. that used to make them out of old fire hose. He made one for me. Don't know if he still makes them or not. They were about the same price as the ones I had seen on the net. They look good work real good. I really wanted a bandoleer for my 45/90 but the belt works great when I get to use it.

In my experience a .440-.441 bullet wrapped with 9 lbs onion skin paper works fine for killing. Ive killed with bullet weights of 490 to 550 grains, 490-510 grains being my favorite weight in the 45 for hunting.

Manny where did you go? That terrain looks right familiar. With the .440" TGBS mold and patched with vellum it takes me to .4495" haven't had a problem yet with it. bobw

Does anyone know what happened to the OP "Craigos" on this thread? Manny was with me when I tested both the PPB441500 and PPB441550 bullets from BACO in my 45/70. I like the 500g bullet best in the 45/70 and have all of my notes for the load.

Don't plan on cleaning it at all ,but will have my Green River Russell Sheepskinner and both Buff skinners with me. If you meant the load it's kind of a whiner one that shoots well, my neighbors 18 year old daughter could shoot it. I pulled a Don McDowell and stuffed a felt wad behind the bullet to use up case space . Not to worried but Rick has a tight chamber 45-2 7/8" with loads like mine if I need a backup gun. I am looking forward to fresh bffalo meat in my freezer..... bobw

Catching up - yes I shot a yearling bull back in Oct in Idaho. 1 shot he went down, weighed 440lbs dressed. Will upload photos when I can. Was my first bison - fulfilling a major bucketlist item.
