Late season cow hunt

I was fortunate enough to shoot my first cow elk with a Sharps last Sunday. 50 2 1-2" 100 grains of Fg, .020 card, 3/16 lube, .020 card and a 473 grain paper patch bullet. She was about a 150 yards facing away. I aimed at the bottom of her head and pulled the trigger.

Hey Stephen I was wondering how you did this year. Looks to be a nice, good sized cow. That rifle has been good to you. Congratulations.

Thanks SFolger and Pete.

Pete this has been my go to gun for 6 years. I didn't draw an antelope tag this year and deer hunting was dismal. A last minute hunt was planned with a good hunting pard of mine and it paid off. He shot a cow with his .270 out of the same herd! Both of our cows were dry! The herd was about 50 strong with only spikes, cows and calfs. It's always a pleasure to watch herds of elk in the wild.
