Tom Bodnar:

``Well yes, Sylvia had a pretty memorable cougar hunt a couple of weeks ago. Not only was she successful she has proved she is pretty tough under extreme weather conditions. She hunted from approx 5am to 7pm for 6 days with the temperatures being -30C or lower for the entire time. A lot of the time was spent on a quad driving off road looking for a trophy Cat.... on day 6 things came together an she was happy to seal the deal on a cat. This was one of her long time dream hunts. A lot of the time in the hills with the wind chill it was -50c...... just too dam cold.
She is very happy an I'm so proud of her......Was a pretty successful hunting season for her.....``

No black tip on tail?

It is believed to be a winter kitten which froze the end of it`s tail off.

Does not have the black tip and the tail is believed to be shorter than it should be.

Cougars can have kittens throughout the season and sometimes a Tom will kill the kittens and then breeds the mother later in the season.

I hunted hounds for 20 plus years until Washington outlawed it. I remember running across some Montana boys that would only collect the tips of the tails . We caught a couple like that in North Idaho and eastern Wa. Just brought back memories.
