.40-50 SBN scores

Post by pacecars »

No pics but I shot a doe this afternoon with the .40-50 Bottleneck. It wasn't much of a challenge, 40 yards, broadside and stationary. The bullet went in the left shoulder and came out the right one DRT.

The shot shouldn't be a big challenge, but GETTING the easy shot - that generally is where the challenge lies. Sounds like you did a good job. Maybe I'll do the same this afternoon with a flintlock. I'm holding out for antlers however.

No deer for me tonight. I let a few walk while I hold out for antlers.

Thanks Brent. Good luck on your quest with the flintlock. I have a nice 8 point on camera that I am concentrating on now that I have meat in the freezer. Might use the Savage 99 for him.
