I've looked everywhere I could think of in the Frozen North for .45 cal Tipton nylon brushes after Dan Theodore told me about them. We just don't seem to have them. I stopped in a Cabellas on the way home with no luck either. Where do you guys buy them from?

I have a few different nylon brushes in .40 and .45 cal but they are too large to use in a .45 bore once you stick a patch on. I'm going to have another look for a solution today.

Now that the dust has settled, the truck is unloaded, and the brass is clean. This year's Phoenix match was a pleasant and relaxed as any BPTR match as I have shot in. Thank you to Steve and everyone who helped make it happen.

Eron beat us all by no small margin. No misses out of 90 record shots at 1000 yards in those conditions is pretty incredible.
Thanks for helping me out as well! I would not have been able to compete if you hadn't generously lent me a rifle and ammo.

I'm late as usual, but thanks for a great match, Steve. The new format worked really well and it was probably the most pleasant rifle match I've shot in. If only the entire 1000 yardline was covered like we have at Byers And while I was really disappointed to see the Cup leave Phoenix, I completely understand why you made the change and I just really don't see why this won't continue to be "The" match to shoot in BPTR Long Range.

Shooting well does seem to change your outlook on things, but even if the shooting gods hadn't have been smiling on me, I would have come to the same conclusion.

Gunlaker, we had something of a redux of Phoenix in March today. Tia Arriba went wild.

Shooting midrange at Ben Avery this morning one of the first events was the whole target, wood frame and all was pulled straight up out of the upright holder and carried down range about 100 yards before being dashed to pieces.

The intermittent windshears were so strong that it would flip the front of my stayput mat up in my face and carry off my patch container while scattering the patches hither and yon. The strange thing about some of them was that the flags would almost be hanging on the poles when one would hit. I have been in many storms and hurricanes and it wouldn't surprise me if those down blasts were over 50 MPH.

The updrafts were equally bad. At 600 yards the shot was carried to the top of the seven ring. Downdrafts would almost take the bullet past the scoring rings on the target at six o'clock and seldom a hint off their presence in the flags...

And a good time was had by all.

That's crazy. We had a target and frame do something sort of similar when I went to Byers last year. The right 2x4 had been weakened by a few shots and then the wind snapped the upright 2x4's and carried the target and frame out of the pits.

I think our wind flags were blowing pretty vigorously then though.

You guys live in a crazy place . I look forward to Byers again this year.

Aww , had to been the bullet or something the shooter did....

My last two shots at 600 yards yesterday were made with all flags hanging on the poles and whirly gig prop still.
the 9th shot was a 3:00 miss just outside the 5 ring. Shot that on zero windage.
The next shot in the exact same conditions with 6 1/2 min. of left shot an X.
Go figure that caca!!!
