Well our June match was exciting as we had an exceptional two day score shot by Jim Dietlein. Jim did quite well shooting chickens both days, very impressive Jim. Also shooting very good was Kurt Altenburg. This is Kurt's second year shooting silhouette. Sunday Kurt shot a darn good score, must have something to do with his wife's excellent spotting ability. It was great to see Debbie Primeau out shoot the scope master class Sunday as see hit five chickens, nice chicken day Debbie. The wind at Alma seems to be tougher than its been in the past. It would seem the missing trees that were logged out behind and to the left of the ram line have changed things.
Our 22 silhouette match was won by Greg Vest Iron sight with a score of 30 Dave Maurer shooting scope shot 27.
Next match is the 3-day Great Lakes Regional the 2nd weekend of July. This will be a three day match Friday Saturday Sunday with a 22 match on Thursday and if we have enough shooters who want to we can have a match on Friday.
A big thank you to all the shooters who helped with range set up and tear down we can't do this with out you. Also thank you Debbie and MJ for goodies.

Thank you for attending Alma's 10th 3day regional time has really flown by fast. We had good turnout of 51 shooters at this match but it easily could have been 55 as for sure certain regulars Glenn Davis and Art Stone were unable to shoot due to health issues. Sam Krawczyk was finishing his house HE is building and Aaron Findley had work issues, we look forward to shooting with them again soon.
Once again this new year's shooting season many are left wondering if the logging of the woods on two of three sides of the ram line is causing the lower scores seen. Alma has always been a tough to read windy range you can easily tell by how many wind turbines surround the range. We will continue to experiment with wind flags on the range to see if we can get a better handle on conditions. Only one shooter was able to post any master scores this weekend. Congratulations go to Jim Radcliffe for shooting two 31's it amazes me because Jim shoots a 45-100, three days plus practice would cause me to have a permanent flinch, I'm impressed Jim. Others came close but the magic number eluded them, maybe next month guys.
Andy Gifford our high junior shooter / only junior this weekend in my opinion is on his way to being a very good competitor. If he continues like he has started the sky is the limit. If I remember correctly this was only his second match . Ether way he is a newbie. Keep up the good work Andy.

The Saturday after our match dinner/picnic was a success thanks go out to Debbie, Sue, Jodi, Karen and Driana for a job well done.
As always thank you very much to all the shooters who helped with set up before the match on Thursday its a back breaking job and is much appreciated. Also thanks go out to the shooters who walk down range and set the targets back on the rails at the end of the day which in turn helps keep them dry overnight. I Don't want to forget the guys who help put the benches back on the line Sunday after the awards. Thanks Guys you know who you are.
