The Quigley ended yesterday

This is where you can place your scores from the matches. It uses an excel spread sheet! If you send me your sheet of scores I can put it on the forum and provide a link where everyone can view it.

The Quigley ended yesterday

Post by desert deuce »

The Quigley ended yesterday afternoon.
Hearing some pretty exciting news about the success of a relatively new shooter tying for second place overall by total hits yet drifting back due to offhand count but have not seen the "Official Scores".
Hopefully those scores will be posted soon.

Hey desert deuce, you may be talking about me! Thanks for the kind words!

I was fortunate to have a good Shiloh 45-70, and a pretty good load, and shoot well. This was not my first Quigley, but was the first time that I shot black powder there. I ended up with a score of 41, which put me in 2nd place in Senior Men's category, and 4th place overall. I was very happy with that! Especially since two days before leaving for Montana, I was having inconsistent ignition issues causing fairly large velocity extreme spreads, and couldn't settle on a load. Got my problem solved in the nick of time, loaded up 319 rounds, and headed to Montana.

While the wind on match days was not ridiculously strong this year, there was enough variation in short periods to make it challenging enough. This year, with the luck of the draw, I NEVER got a clean target to shoot at during the match, and my spotter was able to give feedback on hit location on only a very few hits during the whole match. I got my first ever 8-pin this year (on the Buffalo on Saturday), and then two more on Sunday (Postage Stamp and Diamond). Had a great time all week!

Who said Hoosiers can't shoot? What a showing. See you down the road. Congrats.

Hey Woody, if I can get home, get the mowing done, and get some ammunition loaded, I hope to see you at the Friendship BPCR this coming weekend!

My shooting partner was one shot and place behind you. Hit 40 and was 3rd. He's new to BPCR, shot my rifle 3 years ago at the Q and then bought a used one. He doesn't get to shoot much but has done very well. This was his 3rd Q. :D

Yep, deja vu, I'm talkin' about you.

It is always great to see the new kid on the block do good.

Your story will be an inspiration to all prospective shooters in this game, essentially having only shot seriously for four months, placing high at Lodi in The Cup in Long Range in May and now tying for second at the Q in June amongst a herd of 566 powder burners plinking steel. Amazing, but the yet untold facts are even more amazing.

Jump on that keyboard and let 'er rip Young Man ! Your fans are waiting. :D

Was definitely a fun match. Butter flies deserted him on the Buffalo, only pin he missed of the "easy targets".

Your first place was a good one too!! congrats :D

Good shooting, Kurt, and really cool buffalo trophy!
Met you at Lodi in May. Sorry I didn't connect with you at Quigley. It's surprising I never ran into you on the firing line! Guess I must have been oblivious.

Congrats to you as well Gussy, third place on the White Buffalo!

Congrats to Kurt as well! Great white buffalo trophy!

Congrats to all the winners and shooters at the Q. Weather was nice, except for the awards! Congrats Aviator, I remember seeing your cap;)
