Great!

Trapdoor at 600?

I have not heard anything from the the Mississippi and Louisiana crowd. If memory serves, we might have at least seven on the line. What have you heard Jim?

Woody,
I have two entries so far from Lee Burrow and Alan Rauber. I have three emails from others stating their interest. That doesn't include Ian's post above...........

Thank you to everone that came for the Great Lakes Regional. Thursday's practice day was comfortable with temps in the upper 70's and lower
80's but with winds blowing out of the north at 14-20 mph. That made the 22 match a little testy but we still got some nice scores. Congratulations
to the Iron winner Marshall Chase and the Scope winner Brad Ryan. The results were sent in another attachment. The first big bore match on Friday
appeared to be a good day for shooting, cool temps in the morning, and 70's in the afternnon. But those Alma winds were blowing and switching
from the NW to the NE all day. Saturday brought lots of sun and heat with winds from the SW blowing 10-20 mph. Being next to a cemetary
has the advantage of no one to complain, but on the occasion we graciously honor an agreement to cease fire while a graveside funeral is being
performed. That happened at 1:00 Saturday but worked out rather well as we broke for lunch and had our planned evening meal of pulled pork
early and were able to take a break from the heat. Sunday brought lighter winds and cooler temps. Normally we decide ties using the chicken count.
At the end of the day Greg Vest and Ian Egbert tied with a 3 day aggregate score of 80 vying for silver and bronze medals. That resulted in a shootoff.
Similarly Marshall and Jim tied with the exact score for each animal on Sunday so they also had a shootoff. When the chickens were done falling,
Greg and Marshall had the best scores.
Congratulations to Neil Eddington for cleaning the animals off the sticks on Sunday. That doesn’t happen very often at AP Goodrich. He, along
with Marc O'Malley and Jim Dietlein didn’t miss a pig all weekend for which we have an award. Those, as well as the gold, silver and bronze medals,
(that have yet to come from the NRA) will be mailed.
It was great seeing friends and shooters who regularly make the trip for the regional as well as some new faces who had never shot at AP Goodrich.
Also it was good to see Glenn Fewless who had been absent so far this year. He had many shooters' attention Saturday as he was aiming at his 5th
chicken after hitiing his first 4. It was oh so close but #5 did not fall. As everyone knows, if it was easy, they would call it golf.
Congratuations to the aggregate winners as well as all the daily winners. Thank you to those who came early to help set up and to those who
helped tear down or stayed late to help clean up.Thanks also to Deb Primeau for picking up the pork and making the potato salad. Thanks to
Karen Chase for the delicious cherry cheesecake and Sue Johnson for the pies and baked beans. Special thanks to Lilli Chase, our little helper in the
club house all weekend. Our next match will be August 10-11, hope to see you then.
Many thanks to the different businesses and individuals who contributed to our prize table; Henry Rifles, SPG, Starline, Schuetzen Powder Energetics,
C J's Hunting Shack, Treebone Carving, Gary Freier, Sam Krawczyk, Greg Vest, Judd Spayde, Steve Decker
