Kentucky state stuff!!

This is where you can place your scores from the matches. It uses an excel spread sheet! If you send me your sheet of scores I can put it on the forum and provide a link where everyone can view it.

Kentucky state stuff!!

Post by ian45662 »

So as most of you all know the ky state championships took place over the weekend. Starting with 22 Dutch Grawemeyer not only won the 22 but set a range record with a score of 50. He knocked over 12 chickens. That day. Anyone who has been following Dutch knows some of the adversity that he has had to face. To see him do what he did on Friday mad all of us very happy. Then Karen Chase shot a 47 and normally that would take top honors but this weekend it wasn’t enough. What is impressive about her performance however is that there were only two 15 pins given out that day........ she got both of them. A pig and a turkey pin. Great job!! Her husband Marshall chase ties new shooter Justin Abrams for first but mr chase had him on the chickens. Saturday started with some storms in the morning but they moved out and the shooting began. There was a close race shaking out in irons but in the end Jim Radcliffe got the W for irons with a score of 30 which tied yours truly but he won on the chicken count. Congrats Jim. In the scope area Neil Eddington showed everyone how it’s done missing only 2 off the sticks and laying down 6 chickens. Nice job mr!!!! Next was the highly anticipated chicken bowling!!!!! I went first and laid down 6 and felt pretty good about that but no sooner did I clean my rifle and get it put away Tim Gifford Laid down 8 chickens. Tim and Jim were a thorn in my side all day 😜. With that the rifles were put away and the real fun began. Dinner was served and awards were given out. A really really really nice range box was given away donated by sycamore stations. Buffalo arms also gave away a bullet mould. Of course as usual Swiss powder showed their support with a case of powder. Sunday started with some fog but quickly turned into sunshine. For the most part the flags didn’t move but the mirage was in full effect. This didn’t seem to bother some shooters like Karen or Steve Blackstone. They didn’t seem to be effected by it as much as the rest of us. Steve won the day in irons with an incredible 34 missing only 2 animals off the sticks. Neil Eddington did what he always does and he just shot. Missing only one animal from the sticks and hitting a few chickens giving him a Sunday score of 32. Congrats to Sunday’s winnsers. With that Neil is the overall Kentucky state champion!!! BecAuse Steve took no prisoners he was able to stage an incredible come from behind victory and take top honors for the high irons agg. Karen’s solid performance gave her top honors for the scope class. Congrats to the winners and thanks for everyone who came out. This was the most well attended shoot we have had for a long time. Great to see so many people having a great time.

Thanks for the good write up there Ian. I couldn't be there and it sounds like I missed a good time. Ky is always a tough place to shoot and the scores are higher than I would normally expect. Sometime things just fall into place. I shot my highest score ever there, a 33. See you this weekend.

Ian will have to add the info for these pic's. Plus, not sure why the two are on their side. That's what my computer gives me. Whatever........ couldn't ask for three better looking competitors. Especially the with that pom-muff.
