Forman &Aviator placed first and second overall to take top honors make that Fogman

Looks like the cartridge shooters pretty much owned the match. Isn't there a cartridge-only 2-day match also?

Naw, my hat still fits!

The third day of the World 1000 was cancelled due to rain. So the Triple Crown is over.

In the World 1000, Dave Gullo was 1st, Don Johnson 2nd, and Steve Farringer was 3rd.

In the Triple Crown (aggregate of the Creedmoor, USIMLT, and World 1000), Dave Gullo was 1st, Steve Farringer was 2nd, Ray Hanson 3rd, Don Johnson 4th, and Zack Taylor 5th.

I have photos of score sheets, but too large to post from my phone.

Now to pack up my wet tent....

Aviator and Fogman were an awesome duo. So many good stories about this match and the shooters but I will let the heroes of the day tell it first hand. What does a spotter/target puller know anyway? New full face 1,000 yard targets were a plus by Skip, several were running around in shorts and T-shirts.

As for Aviators hat Woody...……..it is one of those with an expandable headband feature.

Fogman started off the 300 yard USIMLT Match with a 100-5X to set the pace early and best Aviator by one point in the aggregate which set Aviator on fire for the 1,000 World Championship Match. This was Aviator's first anniversary of BPTR shooting. I would say he has come a long way in a short time for sure.

He did very well at the Q also. He is on my hard holder list to keep an eye on.

I guess SFogler is back in Colorado by now and Aviator is still running the asphalt back to Indiana in his match mobile. Both in good spirits.

I will only comment that Aviator started only a year ago with and stayed with a Shiloh 45-70, BACO Money Bullets and SPG Lube, he can fill us in on the specifics of his load but it really held vertical quite well at 1,000 as did Fogman's brand new Shiloh 74 in 45-100 with BACO Money Bullets and I think SPG lube and I am sure he will fill us in with the particulars.

The takeaway was that in the end, the only way to learn how to shoot well in matches is to shoot in matches.

I just sorted through my empty cases from the match, 409. Every one fired in shoulder to shoulder competition. That is what the Triple Crown is all about.

Yeah, I've made it to Joplin, MO, and should get home tomorrow. Drove a long way to participate in the Triple Crown!
In the lowly 45-70, the BACO 459542M5 grease groove bullet and 74 gr of Swiss 2F seems to be working pretty well for me. I also fired just over 400 rounds in the 9 days of matches. Would have been over 450 if the 10th day hadn't been cancelled due to rain.

Home safe thank God. We are topping off our 3 month food supplies since Colorado gov has issued a state of emergency and the schools are closing today. The police are gearing up for panic buying and crowd/riot control. Big storm was following me home so I'm glad the match got cancelled and I could get here a day earlier.

Zack is a world class spotter and Aviator helped me out hugely. My new Shiloh is an exact copy of the Sharps long range rifles made for about 11 months back in the day. I am kind of "invested" in 45-100 so I ordered a historically correct rifle in that caliber for long range. Shot gun butt, pistol grip, checkered, 32" half octagon barrel, single set trigger, the lip on the forearm tip, nice wood, standard twist and chamber in 45-100. I use 78.5 grains Swiss 1.5 powder that has an ES of 9 and average velocity of 1320. The bullet just sits down on the .060 plastic wad with very little compression
