Smithmoor March 22's

This is where you can place your scores from the matches. It uses an excel spread sheet! If you send me your sheet of scores I can put it on the forum and provide a link where everyone can view it.

Smithmoor March 22's

Post by jackrabbit »

Shooters and Friends, March 28, 2021

Moving the March 22 match back one week to March 20th to avoid the snow storm proved to be a good decision. We still had plenty of snow on the ground last Saturday for the match, but it was a pretty nice day. The winds flags stayed almost limp all day and we only had to make a few minor wind corrections. Although it was a little hazy for the first hour or two of the match, the conditions overall were pretty darn good. They lead to some excellent scores, and a whole pile of clean prones! Jack Odor, Bill Acklin, Dick Hennebry, Cecil Sauer, Chase Sauer, and Craig Wolf all took home one of the coveted pins. Ed Himelhoch and Keith Kelly also shot personal best scores as well. Great Shooting!

Greg Tryon took our A class with a 23 and we didn't have a single AA shooter this month. Craig Wolf finally put a scope on his rifle and gave up on the iron sights, and it paid off big time. He took AAA with a super 33, and I am sure is on his way to Master class soon. Cecil Sauer shot a super 34 to be 1st Master and Jim Rodebaugh also shot a 34 to be 1st Grand Master, while I was pleased to shoot well and be the Match Winner.

With the good conditions, we had some super paper target scores as well. Young Chase Sauer shot a super 100-5x to be 1st Paper in the AAA and under class, while Jack Odor shot a 100-7x to win the M/GM class. This month's target was the 300 yard reduced target, shot at 100 yards. Coralee is tracking the scores and the winner will be determined at the April Match after the 600 yard reduced target is shot. Dick Hennebry has some nice awards for the aggregate winners.

I was pleased to have 23 shooters make it out, even with the postponement and the snowy conditions. Thank you everyone for making the effort to come shoot, we appreciate it. Our Winter Series Finale match scheduled for April 10th is currently full with 30 shooters. Let me know if you want to be put on the waiting list. We have some nice awards planned and Coralee has the fixins for a good meal. It should be a great match!
Take care everyone, Cody

Thanks! There are some real hotshots that shoot here, that is a fact. We are super proud of them. It has been fun watching them progress and the level of shooting continually increase here at Smithmoor. It is also a really fun bunch of folks to hang out with. We have a great time and I look forward to each match.
