There was some discussion a good while back about the movable chamber sleeve in a Shiloh. There was a lot of back and forth speculation. Finally Kirk chimed in and said that Shiloh had never used a chamber sleeve in any of their rifles. I know my military rifle, also a Farmer (sn 1010), does not have a chamber sleeve. The movable plate on the breech block is loose as a goose but it shoots very well.

My 1863 military 54.cal. ser.no. 1400 does not have a sleeve.
