Sharpshooters of the ACW

Post by Todd Birch »

Just got a copy of Osprey's "Sharpshooters of the ACW". Note that it is spelled "Sharpshooters" and not "SharpsShooters" as per the "USSS" units of Colonel Hiram Berdan fame.

It deals with both Union and Confederate sharpshooter units, with more info on what they wore, ate and how they lived than any of the other reference books I have. Discusses firearms used other than the '59 and '63 Sharps rifles.

Lots of colour plates and photos; a few I haven't seen before.
